Mary used to be a concert pianist. Mary used to teach music to disabled children. Mary always walked with her eyes to the ground, but she used to have a sense of purpose. Now Mary is a maid at the Lychester Club, an exclusive society club for wealthy women of So here she is, emptying ashtrays, polishing silverware. Always with her eyes down, but waiting for something, anything, to happen. During an evening performance at the club's function room, something does happen outside in the car park. The following morning, Detective Taylor is called to investigate a vast pool of blood on the concrete beside the wealthy member's luxury cars. Has a Mary watches the Detective, and becomes seduced into the drama.
